Hematopoiesis In Vitro Coexists

چکیده
The role of natural killer (NK) lymphocytes in the regulation of human hematopoiesis is controversial. NK-mediated inhibition of colony formation of hematopoietic progenitor cells has been irregularly reported for various cell lineages. In an effort to clarify such disparate findings. we studied the interaction of clearly defined NK and partially purified progenitor cell populations. Cell sorter purified CD1 6 positive blood NK cells and enriched autologous marrow progenitors were co-incubated at various lymphocyte to marrow cell ratios and then cultured in methylcellulose. There was no inhibition of myeloid, erythroid. or mixed colony

Extramedullary haematopoiesis in the kidney
Extramedullary haematopoiesis (EMH) is the development of haematopoietic tissue outside the bone marrow and it most often occurs in the liver and spleen. Renal EMH is quite rare and there are very few case reports concerning the kidney. We describe two cases of 'renal histologically documented EMH' and, in particular, in the second of these two, the EMH tissue coexists with a clear cell renal c...
متن کاملHuman Hematopoietic Stem Cells Can Survive In Vitro for Several Months
We previously reported that long-lasting in vitro hematopoiesis could be achieved using the cells differentiated from primate embryonic stem (ES) cells. Thus, we speculated that hematopoietic stem cells differentiated from ES cells could sustain long-lasting in vitro hematopoiesis. To test this hypothesis, we investigated whether human hematopoietic stem cells could similarly sustain long-lasti...
متن کاملParavertebral Extramedullary Hematopoiesis In A Pregnant Thalassemic Patient: A Case Report
Spinal cord compression due to extramedullary hematopoiesis is a well-described and rare syndrome encountered in several hematological disorders including β-thalassemia. Hereby, a 37-year old pregnant woman with intermediate β -thalassemia with paraparesis and lower limb hypoesthesia was presented. MRI s...
متن کاملExtramedullary Hematopoiesis in a Patient with Transfusion Dependent Beta-Thalassemia Presenting with Cord Compression
Extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) is a physiological compensatory phenomenon occurring in many hemolytic anemias including thalassemia. Besides transfusion, radiotherapy, surgery or a combination of these modalities, hydroxyurea (HU) as an optimal treatment has been described occasionally. We described a case of beta-thalassemia major who has been on regular blood transfusion and developed EMH...
متن کاملImproved longevity of hematopoiesis in long-term bone marrow cultures and reduced irradiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis in Toll-like receptor-4 deletion recombinant-negative mice.
AIM We measured long-term hematopoiesis in continuous bone marrow cultures derived from Toll-like receptor-4 (Tlr4(-/-))(C57BL/6J) mice. MATERIALS AND METHODS We measured hematopoiesis in vitro over 27 weeks in long-term bone marrow cultures from Tlr4(-/-) and control mice, and irradiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis in mice irradiated to 20 Gy to the thorax. RESULTS There was a significant ...
